Kasey Kahne was the fastest rider in qualifying for the 32nd Round of the Sprint Cup Series at the Kansas Speedway. On the newly resurfaced 1.5 miles long D-oval all 46 starters remained under the old course record. Kahne scored at Hendrick Chevrolet his fourth pole of the season with a time of 28,219 seconds and was about 0018 seconds faster than Mark Martin in the Waltrip-Toyota.
