Five-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson stands as the previous week on poles. The championship leader dominated the qualifying session at the Texas Motor Speedway.

The points leader in the Sprint Cup continues on track. As of last week, Jimmie Johnson took the superior pole at Texas Motor Speedway.
