What started in 1952 with the 300 SL racing sports car (W 194) started and developed in the following years to a strong myth is upheld by the presented this year latest Mercedes-Benz SL (R 231). Mercedes-Benz Classic celebrates the 40th therefore AVD Oldtimer Grand Prix on 10 to 12 August 2012 "60 years of SL". The Grand Prix is held annually on the Nürburgring-place with the Mercedes-Benz from his history and numerous racing successes on the track has been closely interwoven.
